Esther Steele, Garden and Nutrition Educator

Esther studied horticulture and has certificates in Permaculture. She worked at The East Bay Nursery and has her own garden business specializing in herb and urban pollinator gardens. She is currently working on receiving a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with an emphasis in Nutrition Science.

She is passionate about all food systems and sustainable crop cultivation and serves as a knowledgeable leader to her students. She believes access to clean and healthy food has been challenging in a lot of communities, especially disadvantaged families, and that getting kids to eat well at an early age is vital.

She is the star in many of our gardening videos, sharing her endless knowledge of gardening with our community in an engaging, lighthearted way.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, dancing, and creating garden-based recipes.
